We had a short visit to Singapore on route from Asia to New Zealand. Since K had lived there, he was particularly interested to return and see how things have changed. Singapore is now 50% bigger and a typical modern city with some areas that are intended to give a
smaller town ‘feel’ and others covered in skyscrapers. The final scene of Crazy Rich Asians, a fan favorite film, shows a massive highrise with a party space and pool on top. This is in Singapore and shown in several of the pictures. We even had the chance to stop by the famous Fullerton Hotel to see how it had changed. We saw some massive crabs, a regular meal here.
I’ve included here some plane pics and the super tiny boat like cabin hotel room we had in Singapore given our short stay and K’s excellent efforts to balance out our budget. The ‘hotel’ in the sky is our overnight flight purchased entirely with frequent flier miles (thanks Mom for working so hard all those years:). S, waiting months and months for this special flight, even changed into her pajamas for the occasion:-).
