For R485 we enjoyed a 7 version wine tasting AND cheese pairing for two and a juice called Egy for S, took home a bottle of the juice, two sea salt blends and a wood wine and glass caddy hand carved. That equals about $27. Money goes far here which is bitter sweet. Our day touring the three main Vineyard areas outside of Cape Town was amazing. We visited Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. The Sauvignon Blancs were our favorite. All of the options here were more fruit forward and thin than we are used to but the tastings were so amazing. Highlights were Fairview in Paarl, La Motte in Franschhoek
and the town where we had an amazing lunch at the French Bistro (S has discovered filet mignon which is $20 here) and visited the local market, and then Lanzarec Wine Estate which Mom adored. Outside seating on velvet furniture in a garden with live band and the best chardonnay. It was wine festival weekend to celebrate Pinotage, a local blend. The weather was lovely. We also visited a chocolate factory and saw some 2 week old baby goats.
