Politics and Leaving Peru

Protests were quite prevalent in Peru when we were there and we had a scare trying to get to the airport in the midst of a major strike (no buses, trains, taxis and roads physically barracaded to stop traffic). This was just a few weeks ago. We then headed to Argentina where the Vice President was convicted. We now watch with the rest of the world as trapped tourists seek to escape, particularly given the time of year. We are pausing to acknowledge how fortunate we've been in our country and in our traveling, particularly 'post' pandemic.
