We landed in Melbourne after 4 days of driving from Sydney, having hugged the shore all the way down before turning north. Melbourne feels like a larger Boston, perhaps with a little of the best parts of Chicago mixed in.
A huge highlight was attending the theater to see &Juliet. We adored it. The energy, the music, the story, the characters. It was truly fantastic. It was witty, fast paced, poignant and fun all at the same time. A musical comedy, the lead actress who played Juliet never stopped belting out the tunes nor dancing. She was sensational.
Ice cream of all things also topped the charts there with a place called Piccolina. If franchising is available, we’d like to open at home. We also loved the ‘free zone’ on the old school, city center tram, the tower with its sensational views, virtual ride and VR experiences including taking you to the Phillips Island Penguin Parade, and the Immigration Museum where S interviewed an immigrant requesting asylum and then had to decide his fate, which was as horrifying as it sounds. The botanical gardens and Alexander McQueen exhibit were also highlights of our visit.
