The baby is named Martin and the older is Coco.
Llamas are pets, and dressed up with knitted hats and ear tassles, along with their human mothers. Around the city square Llamas are being walkes around in front of the Starbucks and Patagonia stores. Cusco is the jumping off point for tours to Macchu Pichu, Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain among others. There is significant unrest politically, with a fairly new and inexperienced President who hasnt kept campaign promises and cost of living is soaring per the locals. When we left there was a strike. We were incredibly fortunate to get a cab whom we paid 4x to get us there safely. He had to turn around a few times for baracaded roads. We had to enter the outer gates of the airport by foot, one ticketed passenger at a time. We found some fun tapas and local restaurants here and saw some world cup matches. K and S caught a Cusco soccer match at the lively stadium in the city, and we attended a spirit healing coca leaf ceremony. The Inca's magic building skills with rocks is shown in one city shot of K walking to a dinner restaurant high in the hills. ViVa Peru is carved into the mountain side above city.
Cusco is vibrant and lively. We were definitely starting to miss some creature comforts when there though, like non-brown water and the ability to put toilet paper in the toilet, as well as truly cold drinks and ice!
