The two hour ferry from Estonia to Finland was so quick and easy. We are shifting to flights after this which is too bad; the ferrys are so easy and lovely. Helsinki is another small but great european inspired city on a harbor. We enjoyed walking around, taking a 'flight' over Finland in the form of a ride like Sorin at Disney if you are familiar with it. We also took a ferris wheel ride and a sauna was the next car option! Interesting thing to do while circling on a ferris wheel!
Its tough to enjoy too much with all thats happening in the world from Hurricane Ian to the Ukraine crisis. We are particularly close to that here in Helsinki, only a few hours from St Petersburg, where we had originally intended to visit along with Ukraine. The signage made for Ukraine refugees was prevelant at the ferry terminal. Now, Finland just announced limitations on Russian refugees after a well publicized exodus of Russian citizens. Throughout Europe, as we work with Italian and Portugese partners on the Scarlett Chase shoe launch, the fear of a dark, cold winter is quite real. Yet, we know we have this one time to explore and will continue along, with Scarlett engaged and enjoying her 'home schooling'. She is definetly seeing a lot and seems genuinely engaged. Lets hope the math facts are also being absorbed!
