Well, its not home with turkey and all the fixin's. In fact, I dont think turkey has graced a menu near us in months. Its also 90+ degrees and back to sea level, after two weeks at 60s and high altitude. Needless to say some pore cleansing is occuring and we are back to mosquito nets at night. I rescued S from a spider so large and thick in the shower it required a two shoe battle (sorry spider). We are in the wet season and the jungle looks great after a short downpour. The flora and fona is the big draw here, although the howler monkeys that sound like full sized dinosaurs make you feel like you are truly in jurassic park. We did a night boat cruise and saw a caiman, which is like an alligator. The boat also broke down in the pitch dark and we were drifting until some tree branches allowed for a grab and hold until another boat could come tow us. We walked the suspension bridges above the trees on Thanksgiving, a far cry from home and nothing that would pass anywhere near a functional safety code. The nature sounds and lush trees are all around us. We are grateful for our families support to allow this trip to happen, and ever mire grateful for home the farther away we get. Sending hugs and love to our awesome kids not with us and family everywhere from Puerto Maldanado.
